Prime Youth Theatre
Age guide 7-11 
Develop your performance skills in a supportive and fun environment. Each week we’ll explore a new script or story and complete creative drama challenges. We’ll have a go at using puppets, creating our own stories and performing in different styles.

Age guide 12-15 
Develop your performance and digital theatre-making skills in a supportive and fun environment. Together we’ll explore different techniques for performing a script and have a go devising our own scenes in response.

Age guide 14-25
Develop your performance and digital theatre-making skills in a supportive and fun environment. Explore different approaches to performing and how these can be applied to a range of forms.

Writers Pad 14+
Each week includes exercises on a series of writing skills around plot, character and dialogue. Over the 5 weeks you’ll be writing a monologue for a professional actor to perform. There will also be scene work in response to classic texts and a chance to share any of your own personal writing with the group.

Monologues and Audition prep 14+
Work with a professional director to learn how monologues can be best selected and performed to display your acting skills. These workshops include a weekly study of speeches from classical to modern theatre. The course concludes with tops tips from drama school audition panels.

Voice Acting 14+
Explore different techniques and forms of voice acting, including radio drama, audiobooks and voiceover work. Across the term you’ll accumulate a range of recordings you can showcase, and skills that can be applied to live and digital performance.

Cost for this 5 week course:

  • Your first workshop costs £32.50 for 60 mins or £37.50 for 90 mins
  • Any additional workshops will cost £10 each for the five weeks

We are happy to announce that we have secured funding from Community Lottery to extend workshops to people who may not otherwise attend:

  • d/Deaf young people
  • Household income under £25K
  • Free school meals
  • Looked After Children/Care Leavers and Young Carers

For children and young people outside of the above groups a limited number of full or half grants are available
